The first industrial AI cloud platform in Europe was created by the German telecommunications coalition.

According to Reuters, German telecommunications and Wedda announced a partnership to create the first industrial artificial cloud service platform for German and European manufacturing enterprises. The project, which aims to provide customized AI solutions for manufacturing and improve production efficiency, supply chain management and product design capabilities, is expected to be fully completed and operational by 2026 as early as 2026.

Weeda will provide the platform with 10,000 high-performance graphic processing units (GPUs) that will support complex AI model training and reasoning to meet the real-time data processing needs of the manufacturing industry. German telecommunications will be responsible for building and managing the data centre infrastructure to ensure the high security, reliability and compliance of the platform. In addition, German telecommunications will lead the sale of the platform, client support and customized development of the AI solution, emphasizing European “AI sovereignty”.

In addition to Germany, Welda has been active in developing AI layouts in other European Union countries. At the GTC/VivaTech conference in Paris, Welda announced the launch of the AI Cloud Platform, entitled “Mistral Company”, in collaboration with the French initial company, Mistral. The platform will be equipped with 18,000 new Grace Blackwell chips, the first of which will be deployed in Essonne, France, and is planned to be extended to other parts of Europe in the future.

The above-mentioned project is part of its European AI Infrastructure Strategy 2025. In-hoon Wong, in a GTC Paris speech on 11 June, stated that In Weida was setting up AI technology centres in seven countries and was planning to build several AI super factories in Europe. Germany, as a European manufacturing centre, has a strong demand for AI-driven smart manufacturing. The industrial AI cloud platform supports forecasting maintenance, quality control and supply chain optimization.
