Teach players to play games? Kill Point Two was bombed overnight by thousands of negatives.

In the past 24 hours, the evaluation of the Skull Tower 2 on Steam dropped from a “good rating” (97 per cent) to a “most positive” (79 per cent), a decrease of nearly 20 per cent. Considering that the Skull 2 was the best and hottest game of the day in 2026, it was shocking that there had been 11,000 differences overnight.

The reason for this is that the Beta version of the balance patch, released on March 20, is v.10.0.0. The developer Mega Crit posted on Steam: “Welcome to the first big patch. The current update includes large-scale balancing adjustments, the main objective of which is to make infinity more difficult to achieve. We have also introduced a “fear model” with a dedicated resource of fine arts to alleviate the distress caused by all kinds of phobia.”

Before going into the specific balancing adjustments, it should be noted that the patch is currently only optional, i.e. not officially published. To experience the patch, the player needs to enter the Beta test and select “public-beta” for download. As Mega Critt has stated on several occasions, these test patches are optional and the content may be adjusted. Then again, what kind of change could attract thousands of players? The answer is: the card is weakened.

The most dissatisfied with this update is the weakening of the silent hunter’s “early ready” card. “Be prepared early” is a very strong zero card, which is used to allow players to discard two cards in their hands and draw two new cards. The effect of this update is to spend one point of energy, discard two cards and get two points of energy in the next round.

In a sense, the silent hunters before the renewal were a little too “brainless”. An “early-prepared” two-by-two mechanism that provides an efficient cycle, especially a combination of acrobats, masters of tactics, etc., creates a stable shuffle. Allows the player to use silent hunters to develop at great speed in flying knives, poisons or strange streams, without risk of “stacking shields/brushing infinite flows” and easily to achieve numerical crushing. Another major change that caused dissatisfied players was the builder of Chapter III BOSS. The newer doormaker has been significantly strengthened, and in the encounter it will permanently remove the tenth card drawn by the player and thus gain one point of strength. The increase was not surprising, given the intensity of the doormaker, but rather too much.

In Reddit, in a popular post on the Expension Tower 2 board, the player thought that if the doorman swallowed the key card in the card set, it would just let you crash a game, “The player has almost no countermeasure”. The change in the “preparation” card, which eliminates the powerful play, along with other weakening and BOSS enhancement, creates a huge disadvantage for the player, and there is a feeling that the production team “teachs you to play”, so that the player also seems to be inconvenient.

Poor assessors have made it clear that Mega Crit would like to hear their voices and withdraw the changes to v0.100.0 patches. Despite this, brainless bombing of games is a rather naive act.
