Zynga, an American social game developer, is turning its attention to modern social platforms such as Discord and Telegram, while moving away from the Web 3 area, which has been heavily invested. The company has decided to move away from the block chain and instead to target emerging user gatherings outside the mobile application store. Following the sale of its Web 3 project, Sugartown, to D20 last year, the hand-drive giant is assessing the timing of future user groups, and the traditional application store may no longer be the only option.

In an interview with The Game Business, Chief Executive Officer Frank Gibeau of Zynga recently explained the company’s decision to abandon the block chain experience. “We believe that it is not possible to produce products of great impact in that field”, Frank Gilbert said, “The technology itself is very interesting, but the (block chain game) market is very complex and premature, especially in the legal environment”.
Today, Zynga is exploring new ways to reach out to players where they most often gather (i.e., the central platform for daily chat and entertainment). Last month, the company launched the game ” Tiny Royale: ZOMBIES! ” , which is the first step in exploration.

Although the company has not yet officially announced that it will land on Discord or Telegram’s new project, Frank Giborg suggests that Zynga may be about to move. “We do not announce any plans at this time, but we are always looking for a user gathering. Look at TikTok, the rise of Discord, and the rise of Telegram, where a new platform of time has emerged.
As communication applications continue to grow and increase their functionality, they are expected to become ideal platforms for easy and interesting social games — and that is the strength of Zynga. However, no official information is available, but this may be an exciting waiting period.
